PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Richard Fitzwell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and James Alan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Fitzwell comes to the cage accompanied by RATM - Killing in The Name. Alan has chosen Fucking Hostile by Pantera as his entrance music. Well, I have no idea who's going to take this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, James Alan!
The judges for this bout are Alexandre Firmino, Seu Braga and Mauricio Rocha.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Fitzwell looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Fitzwell ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Alan moves away.
Fitzwell throws a looping overhand right but Alan ducks down to avoid it.

No luck with that takedown attempt from Fitzwell.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Fitzwell is in close to Alan's body, working some short punches and elbows.
Fitzwell postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Fitzwell throws and elbow that misses. Alan uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Fitzwell's guard. Nice move by Alan!

Alan gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
Alan fails to land with a series of punches.
Fitzwell takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Alan throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Fitzwell misses with a jab, cross combination.
Richard Fitzwell seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Fitzwell shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

It looks like Richard Fitzwell has been cut.

Fitzwell fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Alan fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Alan throws a wild combination but nothing lands.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Fitzwell shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Fitzwell was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Richard Fitzwell overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Oh but Alan is tightening it up a little... Fitzwell has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Fitzwell reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Fitzwell taps out! nice BJJ there by Alan!
