16 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, OneRound Sapp! The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Daniel Franklin and Chris Downing.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Coleman moves out of range of the strikes. Sapp slips a straight right by Coleman. Sapp throws a series of punches but Coleman avoids them all with ease. Coleman misses with the combination.
Coleman rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Sapp moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Coleman misses with a combination
and Sapp counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work. Coleman with a nice cross. Sapp throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.
Coleman throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Sapp. Sapp goes for a spinning back kick but it misses. Mark Coleman seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Coleman looks to land a right hand but Sapp moved out of range. Coleman swinging wildly here.

Sapp misses the shot to the body. A big left from Sapp misses. Coleman avoids a punch combination nicely.
That's one minute gone in the round. Coleman misses the shot to the body. Sapp throws a hook to the side of Coleman's head but Coleman sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Coleman shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Sapp as he avoids it easily. Sapp misses with a few strikes there.
Coleman chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Sapp can pounce on him.

Coleman lands with a good body shot. Coleman throws a lazy right hand but Sapp sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Sapp avoids a lazy jab quite easily. Coleman moves out of range as Sapp strikes. Coleman connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt. A nice combination there by Sapp.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Coleman has his takedown stuffed and Sapp counters with a lovely straight right hand! Coleman throws a right hand that Sapp ducks under and follows up with a left that Sapp also avoids with ease. Coleman walks into a left hand.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Coleman drops his hands momentarily and Sapp takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head. Coleman throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Sapp sees it coming and avoids it easily. Coleman keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Sapp cracks a nice hook into Coleman's ribs. Coleman misses with a straight right. Sapp bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Coleman's head. Coleman throws a right and a left that Sapp avoids nicely. Nice defenses there by Coleman. Sapp connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe. Coleman fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Coleman fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Sapp avoids it really well and circles away. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Mark Coleman. That's going to take a lot out of him. Sapp looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. A slow jab from Sapp misses its intended target.

Nice defenses there by Sapp. Sapp on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot. Sapp throws a low kick but Coleman avoids it. Coleman connects with a looping right hand.

Sapp misses with an uppercut. Coleman saw that one coming. Sapp shoots in for a takedown but Coleman shows good takedown defense. Coleman throws a right and a left that Sapp avoids nicely.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Sapp has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him. Coleman lands a two punch combo.
Sapp looks gassed! We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Coleman moves out of range of the strikes. Sapp displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Coleman throws out the jab. Coleman throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Sapp on the side of the head. Coleman misses the jab. Coleman lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!
Coleman throws a body punch but Sapp moves out of range. Sapp misses with a looping left. Coleman connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe. Sapp shoots in but Coleman avoids the takedown attempt easily. Sapp drops his hands momentarily and Coleman takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head. Coleman is working the combinations to good effect here. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Coleman lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook. Coleman lands a jab to Sapp's midsection. Coleman's corner calls for a 1,2 combination and Coleman duly obliges. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
OneRound Sapp dominated that round. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Sapp takes a shot right to the bread basket. Coleman stuns Sapp with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range. Coleman lands a jab to Sapp's midsection. Coleman shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Sapp as he avoids it easily. Coleman shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Sapp but Sapp pushes him off and we're back to square one. Coleman moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross. Coleman lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw. Coleman throws a half hearted mid kick. Sapp takes a shot right to the bread basket. Mark Coleman is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Coleman scores to the head and body with a nice combination! Sapp misses with a jab, cross combination.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Coleman walks into a stiff left hand from Sapp. Coleman lunges at Sapp with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Sapp's hand. Coleman throws a body punch but Sapp moves out of range. Coleman gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Coleman lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Sapp circles away quickly and effectively. Sapp takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.

Coleman paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button. Mark Coleman is winning the standup battle so far. That's three minutes gone in the round. Coleman ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. A jab from Sapp misses. Coleman fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Sapp looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath. Coleman loads up on a big right hand but Sapp slips the punch. Sapp pushing out the jab but it's not landing. Sapp slips a jab from Coleman. Sapp throws a hook but Coleman avoids it easily. Coleman with a nice cross. Coleman fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Sapp manages to avoid it. Coleman throws out a powerful jab. Nice takedown defense from Sapp. No joy for Coleman on that attempt. Coleman throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd. Coleman pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Coleman fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done. Coleman scores with a decent looking hook. It really doesn't seem like the step up in weight is hurting Coleman here at all. He's more than holding his own against the bigger man.

Coleman feints and as Sapp raises his hands in defense, Coleman changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Coleman preventing the sweep. Sapp keeping moving, preventing Coleman from controlling successfully. Coleman stopping the sweep attempt from Sapp. Coleman forces his way into half guard. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Sapp is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Coleman throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Coleman throws a jab when Sapp was well out of range. No joy there for Coleman, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Sapp throws and low kick but Coleman moves out of range easily. Coleman drives through with a takedown into guard. Sapp wants to sweep here but Coleman controlling him for the moment. Sapp keeping moving, preventing Coleman from controlling successfully. Sapp takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Coleman stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Sapp swivels though and keeps the full guard. Sapp wants to improve his position but instead Coleman has moved into half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Coleman is looking to advance position but Sapp won't allow it. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Sapp can do anything to dispel that myth. Coleman trying to control from half guard but Sapp is working away. Sapp has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Coleman is working away from the top position though. Coleman throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Sapp throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Sapp slaps away a takedown attempt from Coleman, before circling back to the center of the mat. Coleman fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Sapp on the side of the head. A right-left combo lands from Coleman. Sapp swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Coleman counters with a takedown into side control. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Sapp tries to buck Coleman off but Coleman is having none of it. Sapp is trying to control Coleman's posture but Coleman avoids it. Coleman is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Sapp is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Coleman is working Sapp over with some ground and pound from side control. Coleman working away diligently from side control. Landing strikes effectively there - that will score him some points on the judges scorecards.
Coleman works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head. Sapp is trying to improve his position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Coleman grinds an elbow into Sapp's temple. Sapp can't do much from the bottom here. Sapp is not content to let Coleman control the position. Coleman misses with the ground and pound. Coleman working away. Sapp tries to improve position but can't. Coleman trying to control the position but Sapp is working away. Sapp regains half guard. Sapp trying to hold on to Coleman's head to control him but Coleman postures up.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Coleman swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Sapp counters with a series of strikes. Coleman will be more careful next time no doubt.

Coleman gets slowly back to his feet. Coleman lands a glancing blow to the side of Sapp's head. Sapp takes a shot to the body in his stride.

Coleman is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches. Sapp scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business. Coleman takes a swing at Sapp's ribcage but misses. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Sapp throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean. Nice jab there from Coleman. Coleman looks for a takedown but Sapp sprawls well. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Mark Coleman. That's going to take a lot out of him.
