Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Kevin Johnson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Shawn Larkin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Well, I have no idea who's going to take this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Kevin Johnson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Shawn Larkin!
The judges for this bout are Illya Tyunina, Vladimir Khabensky and Ivan Kurochkin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice body punch from Larkin.
Larkin gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
Johnson misses with a two punch combination.
A combination from Johnson does no damage.
Johnson will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Johnson tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Larkin was well out of range. Poor timing from Johnson.
Johnson shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Larkin pinned against the cage. Larkin gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Johnson lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Larkin circles away quickly and effectively.
No joy there for Johnson, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

and Johnson counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Johnson thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Larkin's head.
Larkin is looking for a sweep. Johnson is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Johnson tries to pass to full mount but Larkin defends it.
Johnson misses with a head shot. Larkin uses the momentum to regain guard.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Johnson fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
Good standup being displayed there by Johnson as he connects with a hook.

Johnson takes a kick to the body and keeps moving.
Larkin takes a shot to the body in his stride.

Johnson feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Larkin has momentary wrist control but Johnson slips an elbow through the middle.

Larkin stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Larkin wants it to stay on the feet.
Johnson looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.

Larkin changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Johnson tries to avoid it but Larkin manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Johnson to the ground. Johnson escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Larkin changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Johnson looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Johnson on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Johnson tries to get out of the position.

Larkin manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.
Johnson is taking a breather. Larkin says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Larkin wants to get back to full guard.
Larkin makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Larkin.
Johnson controls the pace of the fight for a moment.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Larkin is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Shawn Larkin has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Johnson sitting in guard, not really doing much.
Johnson has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
Johnson wants to control from the top but Larkin keeps moving.

Well Johnson has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
