Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between recom uy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Antonio Roja (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). uy comes to the cage accompanied by bleed it out by linkin park. recom uy has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Yasuomi Hirokawa, Sosuke Kotani and Shigeki Sano.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
uy gets the takedown into side control.
Roja is looking for a sweep.

Roja is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
Roja parries the strikes from uy easily there. uy is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Roja to escape.

uy's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
Roja wants to control but uy postures up.
uy has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Roja seems a little lost for a moment, as uy dominates the positioning.

uy tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Roja swivels and escapes.

uy shoots in for a takedown but Roja shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
uy is looking to take a break and control but Roja is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

uy is taking a breather. Roja says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
uy seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Roja does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
uy takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with uy in particular looking to stall.

uy takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Roja throws a series of punches but uy avoids them all with ease.
Roja tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but uy was well out of range. Poor timing from Roja.

Roja changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
Roja moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.
A looping hook to the body misses from Roja. uy does a little dance to reset his feet.
Roja looks to land a right hand but uy moved out of range.
Roja loads up on a big right hand but uy slips the punch.

Roja lands a jab to the nose.
Roja throws a body punch but uy moves out of range.
Nice defenses there by uy.
uy walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
Roja connects with a good right hand that stumbles uy. uy circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
Roja swings for the body but uy moves out of range.
Roja throws a shot from downtown. uy moves away and avoids it.
Roja gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
uy won't allow Roja to sweep him here.
uy throws a strike but Roja rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
Roja avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

uy throws his legs up looking for a submission but Roja uses it to pass to side control.
Roja just content to control the position.
Let's hope that Roja has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Antonio Roja showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
uy is looking to advance position but Roja won't allow it.

Roja is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of uy's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take uy's back!

A bit of a pause in the action here. Roja controlling the positon.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to recom uy.
I think uy has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
