Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Stewie Griffin!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Rick McRickerson!
The judges for this bout are Edson Gomes, Felipe Paraventi and Emerson Jorge.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Griffin slips under a jab from McRickerson.
McRickerson stuffs the takedown.
Griffin avoids a punch combination nicely.
Griffin shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as McRickerson sprawls well. McRickerson wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Griffin gets slowly back to his feet.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Griffin is defended easily by McRickerson.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Stewie Griffin. That's going to take a lot out of him.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Griffin.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
A big left from McRickerson misses.
Griffin shoots for a takedown but McRickerson saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Griffin tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but McRickerson swivels and escapes.

The fighters circling - McRickerson throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Stewie Griffin seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
McRickerson misses with a body shot.
Griffin shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as McRickerson sprawls well. McRickerson wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Griffin gets slowly back to his feet.
Horrible takedown by Griffin or perhaps it was just good defense by McRickerson which made him look bad.
McRickerson throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
McRickerson swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Griffin shoots in for a double leg but McRickerson sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Griffin decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Griffin wants to pass the guard but McRickerson is defending well.
Griffin is nestled in close to McRickerson, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Griffin trying to control the action but McRickerson is working from the bottom.
Griffin throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Griffin moves into full mount! McRickerson won't be happy about that!
Griffin sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it!

Griffin trying to control but McRickerson is having none of it.
Griffin throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for McRickerson because Griffin loaded up on that one.
McRickerson holding onto his opponent's waist for dear life, as Griffin tries to land some strikes to get him to release his grip.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Griffin looking for a guillotine from mount but McRickerson is having none of it.
Griffin sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Griffin throws some wild stikes that McRickerson manages to avoid easily.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Stewie Griffin dominated that round.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!


Horrible takedown by Griffin or perhaps it was just good defense by McRickerson which made him look bad.
McRickerson takes a swing at Griffin's ribcage but misses.
The fighters circle momentarily. McRickerson darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.

Griffin scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
Griffin is looking to advance position but McRickerson won't allow it.
Griffin thows a huge punch but McRickerson dodges it nicely.
Griffin not landing any meaningful shots this time.
McRickerson looks like he's trying to stand up.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Griffin missing with the ground and pound from half guard.
Griffin passes to side control.

Griffin is working to tighten is grip on McRickerson's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. McRickerson has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Griffin is really squeezing tight and eventually McRickerson passes out! Griffin breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:50 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Arm Triangle). Stewie Griffin!
