PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Henry Chinaski (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Vitor Belfort (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Belfort comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Things just arent the same kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the middleweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 4 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Henry Chinaski!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Vitor Belfort!
The judges for this bout are George Francis, Gwen Towbar and Robert Twigg.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Belfort avoids the head kick by Chinaski.
Belfort misses with a double jab.
A nice leg kick lands there from Chinaski.
Belfort takes a kick to the body and keeps moving.
An inside leg kick from Chinaski misses.
Belfort bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.
Belfort blocks the body kick.
Belfort throws the left hand but Chinaski avoids the punch easily.
Belfort avoids the head kick by Chinaski.
Chinaski throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.

Chinaski with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Belfort lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Chinaski pivots, looking for a leg kick but Belfort is out of range and Chinaski settles back down.
Belfort cracks Chinaski with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
Chinaski fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Belfort is out of range.
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Chinaski lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Belfort has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Belfort and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.

Chinaski gets cracked there but stands up to it.

Belfort throws out a loose jab but Chinaski uses good head movement to avoid it.
Chinaski ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
Belfort takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Donk. Chinaski catches Belfort right on the button with a cross.
Belfort scores with a shot to the body.
A bone on bone clash there as Belfort blocks the leg kick.
Chinaski scores with a slapping inside leg kick.

Henry Chinaski seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Chinaski dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Belfort. That did some damage!

and Belfort counters with a straight right hand.

Belfort connects with a body shot.
Chinaski chopping away at his opponent's legs.
Chinaski walks into a left hand.
Chinaski misses with a looping left.
Chinaski tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
Belfort bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Chinaski's head backwards.
Belfort checks a leg kick.
Some bone on bone action there as Belfort checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.

and Belfort counters with a straight right hand.
Chinaski walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Belfort checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.

Chinaski moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.


Chinaski is rocked!
Chinaski throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Oh Chinaski is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Chinaski looks up at the clock. Bad move! Belfort lands a right hand from hell, dropping Chinaski. Belfort pounces and finishes the fight with a flurry of punches and elbows.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:56 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Vitor Belfort!
Vitor Belfort is the new middleweight champion!
