Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Jet Li (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and guy sanchez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the ring.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the lightweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jet Li!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, guy sanchez!
The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Gwen Towbar and Stewart Dunkirk.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Li circles away from the clinch attempt.
Li keeps the fight on the outside.
guy sanchez seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Li swats away the attempt to clinch by sanchez.
sanchez throws a hook but Li blocks it.
sanchez scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent.
sanchez is looking to clinch but Li is avoiding it.

Li shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
Li lands a big shot there that rocks sanchez but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
Li throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.
Li has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Li is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. sanchez can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
Li throws some wild stikes that sanchez manages to avoid easily.

The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
Li lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.

sanchez is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.

Li cracks sanchez with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Li throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for sanchez because Li loaded up on that one.

sanchez avoids a strike by Li and manages to complete a very nice reversal in the process, to end up in Li's guard! Fantastic escape!

Li is looking for a triangle but sanchez pushes his legs off easily.

Li is breathing heavily.

Li looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
sanchez trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.

Li has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. sanchez is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Li.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Li feints and as sanchez raises his hands in defense, Li changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Li avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
sanchez utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Li throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as sanchez works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Li is looking to work some ground and pound but sanchez has wrist control.
Li won't allow sanchez to sweep him here.

Li missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jet Li dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

sanchez moves in looking to clinch but Li pushes him off.
The fight stays on the outside here - sanchez looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
sanchez is looking to clinch but Li is avoiding it.
sanchez fails with the takedown

so Li counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Li is looking to advance position but sanchez has hit a scissor sweep - now he's on top in mount!

Poor strikes thrown by sanchez there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!

Li is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but sanchez pulls his head out easily.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

The fighters are battling for position here. Li manages to regain full guard. Nice work.
sanchez is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

sanchez seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.
sanchez prevents Li from improving his position.

sanchez seems to be working for a kimura but Li defends the submission attempt.

sanchez lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.

sanchez is working to tighten is grip on Li's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Li has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but sanchez is really squeezing tight and eventually Li passes out! sanchez breaks the hold and jumps onto the ropes to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!
