Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Puuha Pete (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Roy Maltive (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Maltive has chosen Show Me What You Got as his entrance music. Roy Maltive has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Puuha Pete's chin.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Wesley Smith and Daniel Franklin.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Maltive misses with a kick to the body.
Maltive lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.

It looks like Puuha Pete has been cut.
Pete shoots in but no luck this time.

Pete throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Maltive was covering up waiting for the punch and Pete finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Pete stays in close to Maltive's body and controls the position.

Pete got a little sloppy there for a moment and Maltive has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Pete has managed to get both his arms back between Maltive's legs - danger averted.

Maltive is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Pete defends well.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Good leg kick by Maltive there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.

Maltive is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Maltive has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Pete can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Pete is hobbling a little on that front leg after taking quite a few leg kicks so far in this fight.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
