The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Brawler throws a leg kick but Vaughn Dez sees it coming and checks it nicely.

Brawler feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Brawler is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Vaughn Dez is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Vaughn Dez has escaped and now he's on top!
Brawler is breathing heavily.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Vaughn Dez accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Brawler misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Brawler will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Vaughn Dez bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Vaughn Dez is looking to take a break and control but Brawler is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Vaughn Dez has worked his way into a potential kimura here. Brawler is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Vaughn Dez yanks on the arm and Brawler is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Vaughn Dez.
