The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gilbert throws a head kick that looked like it stung.
Kudryavtsev is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Kudryavtsev looks for a takedown but Gilbert sprawls well.
Kudryavtsev changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Gilbert tries to avoid it but Kudryavtsev manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Gilbert to the ground. Gilbert escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Oliveira Gilbert has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Svyatoslav Kudryavtsev.

Gilbert has Kudryavtsev pressed up against the cage in a tight Thai clinch. Kudryavtsev is arching his back, trying to avoid the knees but a big one sneaks through from Gilbert - that's hurt Kudryavtsev badly! Oh, another knee lands and Kudryavtsev is covering up! The referee steps in to save him - possibly a bit early but Kudryavtsev doesn't seem to be complaining.
