Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Lam Nguyen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Pierre Saint Roc (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Nguyen comes to the cage accompanied by Heads Will Roll. Saint Roc comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Rock superstar kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nguyen throws a leg kick that misses.
A left and a right from Saint Roc both land. Nice combination.
It looks like Lam Nguyen has been cut.
Nguyen moves in looking to clinch but Saint Roc pushes him off.
Nguyen tries to close the distance and clinch but Saint Roc swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Saint Roc keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
Nguyen with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Saint Roc to score with a decent uppercut.
Saint Roc connects with a solid leg kick.
Nguyen throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Saint Roc throws a series of strikes that have Nguyen backpedaling.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Lam Nguyen seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Saint Roc tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Saint Roc jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Nguyen walks away with a smile on his face. Saint Roc gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Nguyen checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time.
Saint Roc chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Nguyen can pounce on him.

Nguyen takes one on the chin but seems OK.

Saint Roc stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Nguyen.
Saint Roc throws a push kick but Nguyen slaps the foot to one side.
Saint Roc lands a really nice looking cross but Nguyen seems unphased.

Nguyen looks to clinch
and Saint Roc holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Saint Roc jumps guard but Nguyen stands there with Saint Roc around his waist. Saint Roc gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Saint Roc pulls guard successfully.
Saint Roc has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Nguyen can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Saint Roc is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Nguyen defends well.

Nguyen got a little sloppy there for a moment and Saint Roc has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Nguyen has managed to get both his arms back between Saint Roc's legs - danger averted.
Nguyen wants to stand but Saint Roc has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
Nguyen wants to control from the top but Saint Roc keeps moving.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Saint Roc is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Saint Roc wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Good leg kick by Nguyen there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Nguyen looks to score with a jab to the body but Saint Roc is just out of range.

Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Nguyen.
Saint Roc fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Nguyen looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.

Lam Nguyen is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

and Saint Roc holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Saint Roc tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Nguyen smiles and moves away.

Nguyen shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Saint Roc has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Nguyen uses from the top position.

The fighters circle momentarily. Saint Roc darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.

Nguyen knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Saint Roc on the ground.

Saint Roc has instead reached around Nguyen's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Saint Roc arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.
