The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Taro shoots in but no luck this time. Taro shoots in and drives through. Lewis sprawls well. Taro fails with the takedown. Doug Lewis has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Akebono Taro. Lewis keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Taro fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Lewis tries to clinch but Taro moves out of range. Lewis moves in looking to clinch but Taro pushes him off. Lewis tries to clinch up but Taro circles away and keeps his distance. Taro looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Lewis! Lewis has hold of Taro's hands but Taro slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow. Lewis is looking to escape. Taro prevents Lewis from improving his position. Lewis gets full guard. Taro loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Lewis might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Lewis has momentary wrist control but Taro slips an elbow through the middle. Lewis controls Taro momentarily but Taro frees himself. Lewis is looking to stand up but Taro isn't so interested in that idea. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Taro must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Lewis is breathing heavily. Taro distracts Lewis with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.

Lewis tries to close the distance and clinch but Taro swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Taro misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Lewis throws a head kick but Taro moves out of range.
Taro keeps the fight on the outside. Lewis is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Taro shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Lewis as he jumps to the side. Lewis gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Taro counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Taro. Lewis is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Taro. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Taro looks up at the clock and then as Lewis takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Taro smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!

He's got his arms around Lewis's waist but Lewis gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Taro off to one side. Lewis is looking to take this fight into the clinch. And that's the end of the fight! Akebono Taro comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I've got Taro winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
