Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Pedrinho Matador (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and David Lilja (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). On his way into the cage it seems that Pedrinho Matador has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Pedrinho Matador seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Pedrinho Matador! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
9 - 14 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, David Lilja! The judges for this bout are Matheus Silva, Alexandre Firmino and Edson Gomes.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Matador displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Lilja. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Lilja is defended easily by Matador. Nice takedown defense from Matador. No joy for Lilja on that attempt. Pedrinho Matador has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of David Lilja. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. No luck with that takedown attempt from Lilja. Lilja shoots for a double leg takedown but Matador sprawls well. He's pushed Lilja's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Lilja shoots in for a double leg but Matador sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Matador decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Lilja manages to get to full guard.
Matador thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Lilja looking for a sweep. Not yet Lilja, not yet. Lilja working a defensive guard here.
Matador drops back, looking for a kneebar! Lilja looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Lilja looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Lilja! Matador is trying to improve his position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Lilja looks up at the clock and then as Matador takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Lilja smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
Lilja works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head. Lilja is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Matador is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Matador tries to buck Lilja off but Lilja is having none of it. Matador is working hard here to advance position. Matador is breathing heavily. Lilja has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand. Lilja shoots and misses and Matador counters with a single leg into guard. Lilja didn't expect that. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Matador prevents Lilja from getting back to his feet. Matadoris looking to pass into half guard but Lilja pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now Lilja is in guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Matador looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Matador working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Lilja doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Lilja manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Lilja stands up from guard. Let's bang! Lilja misses with a takedown attempt and Matador moves into the clinch. Lilja misses with a knee strike.
Matador prevents a takedown attempt there.
Lilja lands an elbow inside that Matador shrugs off. Lilja tries to land a knee to the head but misses.
Matador can't break the clinch.
Matador wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Matador wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee. Lilja tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Matador smiles and moves away.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Lilja closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Matador to the mat! Matador manages to get full guard. Lilja landing some decent shots from guard. Lilja stands up from Matador's guard - Lilja perhaps looking for a knockout. Lilja shoots for a double leg takedown but Matador sprawls well. He's pushed Lilja's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but David Lilja will probably get the nod. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
Nice takedown defense from Matador. No joy for Lilja on that attempt. Lilja shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Lilja was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Lilja punishing his opponent with strikes. Lilja landing strikes from the mount and Matador is in trouble! Lilja with good strikes from the mount here! Lilja with a couple of short strikes. Matador is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Lilja has hold of Matador's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Matador manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

That's one minute gone in the round. Matador can't escape the position.
Matador bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done! Lilja pushes Matador off and gets back to his feet.
Lilja misses with a takedown attempt and Matador holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch. Matador looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now. Matador is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage. Lilja wants the takedown. Matador is fighting it off but Lilja persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Matador's guard against the cage. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Lilja stands up from guard. Let's bang! Matador with a lazy takedown attempt and Lilja counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Lilja. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Lilja is looking to work some ground and pound but Matador has wrist control. Lilja with a nice head shot there. Lilja thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Lilja trying to control the position from guard on top but Matador is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Matador is looking for a triangle but Lilja pushes his legs off easily.

Lilja is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Matador wants to clinch and Lilja decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Matador's guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Lilja trying to control but Matador is working from the bottom. Matador looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Matador looking for submissions from an awkward position here. Matador looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Lilja drops an elbow to the side of Matador's head.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Lilja looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Matador with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. Lilja trying to control the action but Matador is working from the bottom. Lilja is working for a submission here. He's got hold of the far side arm and he's looking for a kimura. He's cranking on the arm and he's got it! Matador is tapping out! Ouch, that looked like it hurt!
