Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Edoardo Bertolone (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Marvin Hicks (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Bertolone comes to the cage accompanied by The Fight song - Marylin Manson. Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Edoardo Bertolone! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Marvin Hicks! The judges for this bout are Shigeki Sano, Yukihiro Shimada and Shigeki Fujiwara.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Bertolone swats away the attempt to clinch by Hicks. No luck for Hicks with that takedown attempt. Hicks is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Hicks looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Bertolone is fending him off so far but Hicks persists. Nope, Bertolone circles away and we're back to standing. Hicks looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Hicks blocks a head kick by Bertolone.

Hicks dives in and grabs Bertolone's left leg, looking for a takedown. Bertolone pushes down on Hicks's head and hops out. Edoardo Bertolone has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Marvin Hicks. A head kick misses from Bertolone. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Hicks misses with a takedown attempt - Bertolone sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Hicks looks for a takedown but Bertolone sprawls well.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hicks shoots in for a takedown but Bertolone shows good takedown defense. Hicks shoots for a double leg takedown but Bertolone sprawls well. He's pushed Hicks's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Bertolone throws a head kick that half lands.
It looks like Marvin Hicks has been cut. Hicks shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Bertolone defends it nicely. Hicks looks gassed! Bertolone tries a head kick but it misses.
Hicks tries to clinch up and Bertolone counters with a flying knee that drops Hicks!
Hicks is rocked! The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Bertolone gets to his feet. Hicks looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Bertolone tries to close the distance and clinch but Hicks swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Bertolone lands a head kick!
Hicks is still on wobbly legs! Can Bertolone finish him? Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Bertolone throws a head kick that misses. Bertolone jabs at Hicks's body. Hicks seems to have recovered his senses. A combination from Bertolone does no damage. Hicks with a poor takedown and Bertolone counters with a head kick. Marvin Hicks seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Bertolone tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Hicks takes a kick to the side of the head. Bertolone throws a body kick that digs right into the meat. Whack! Bertolone lands a heavy head kick that drops Hicks. The ref tackles Bertolone to stop the fight - a great save by the referee because Hicks was done.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:05 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Head Kick). Edoardo Bertolone!
