Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
1 - 8 - 0, fighting out of New York, Mabishiro Sakamoto!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
1 - 5 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jimmy Conway!
The judges for this bout are Lou da Vinci, Bruno Lombardi and Alyssa Summers.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Conway throws the left hand but Sakamoto avoids the punch easily.
Sakamoto fails with a takedown attempt.
Nice takedown defense from Sakamoto. No joy for Conway on that attempt.
Sakamoto blocks a head kick by Conway.
Sakamoto needs to keep his hands up - Conway had a free shot at his head there.
Conway throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Sakamoto throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
The fight moves into the clinch position.
Conway breaks the clinch.
No luck for Sakamoto with that takedown attempt.
Sakamoto misses with a takedown attempt
and Conway cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Mabishiro Sakamoto. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Conway uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.
It looks like Mabishiro Sakamoto has been cut.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Conway closes the distance and lands a vicious right hand that drops Sakamoto! Conway dives in looking to finish! Sakamoto is still trying to defend himself but he's taking too many shots and the referee has no choice but to stop the fight!
