Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jason Stone!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Johnny Nutz!
The judges for this bout are Anthony Taglia, Bruno Lombardi and Eddie Farnsworth.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nutz shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Stone sprawls well. Stone wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Nutz gets slowly back to his feet.

Nutz closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Stone tries to improve position but can't.
Nutz fails to land a wild elbow strike.
Nutz works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head.

Stone throws Nutz to one side and escapes!
No joy there for Stone, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Nutz shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Nutz showed some decent athleticism there.
Stone wants to get back to his feet.
Nutz is trying to control. Stone wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Stone is trying to stand.
Stone is looking to get back to is feet but Nutz passes into side control.
Nutz trying to control the position but Stone is working away.
Stone wants to get back to his feet but Nutz drags him back down.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Nutz thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Stone is breathing heavily.
Nutz lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Stone down.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Nutz is chipping away with strikes.
Stone is trying to escape and get back to his feet.
Stone on the wrong end of some ground and pound.

Nutz is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Stone has escaped the position, nice work there.
Stone wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!
Nutz in side control lands a decent elbow.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Nutz cracks Stone with a big right hand but Stone just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.

Nutz is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Stone knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Stone is trying to escape and get back to his feet.
Stone tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Nutz wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Stone tries to wriggle free to get back to his feet but he's given up his back! Oops.
Nutz has his opponent trapped and is landing shots. Not a good position for Stone.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Nutz looking for the rear naked choke. And he's got it! Stone taps!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:02 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Johnny Nutz!
