Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between BJ Penn (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and KJ Noons (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Penn's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Hawaii Song. KJ Noons acknowledges the crowd's support as he enters the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, BJ Penn!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, KJ Noons!
The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Robert Twigg and Wesley Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Noons shoots for a takedown but Penn saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
A left lands for Penn.
Nice sprawl there from Penn as Noons shoots in.
Noons throws a nice looking combination but Penn bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Penn fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Penn throws a right and a left that both miss.

Noons closes the distance and clinches.
Noons tries for a takedown but Penn manages to get underhooks.
BJ Penn has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of KJ Noons.

Noons ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Noons no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
Penn tries to stand but Noons is controlling from the bottom.
Noons keeping moving, preventing Penn from controlling successfully.
Noons really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Penn. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Penn throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Noons works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

and Noons counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Noons.
Noons has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Penn avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.

Noons escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

and Noons holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Penn is pressed up against the cage. Noons has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Penn down to the mat. Penn avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Penn throws a series of strikes that have Noons backpedaling.
BJ Penn seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Noons.
Penn clinches but Noons breaks the clinch

and Noons decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Penn's guard.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Penn bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Noons's guard.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Penn lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
Penn tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Noons was well out of range. Poor timing from Penn.
Penn pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Penn closes this distance looking for a takedown but Noons circles away.
Noons lands a body shot.
Penn throws a series of punches but Noons avoids them all with ease.
Noons shoots in for a takedown but Penn shows good takedown defense.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Penn tries to circle away but Noons has him pinned against the cage.
Penn is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Noons is keeping busy.

Noons's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Noons takes one on the chin but keeps coming.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Penn is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Noons asserts his dominance and retains side control.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

KJ Noons showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

KJ Noons comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Noons winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
