3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Yuri Sichev! The judges for this bout are Sergei Dronov, Illya Tyunina and Valeri Chadov.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Sichev throws a half hearted mid kick. Evtuhov looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this! Evtuhov tries to clinch up. Sichev decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Evtuhov might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Sichev frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount. Sichev content just to control the position here. I looks like Sichev might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Sichev lands a heavy elbow. Sichev looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead. Sichev controlling from mount. Sichev fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!

We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Evtuhov tries to get out of the position.
Despite being in the dominant position, Yuri Sichev just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Sichev tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Yuri Sichev dominated that round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Sichev rushes Evtuhov and presses him up against the cage. Sichev lands a hook to the body. It's hard to tell if that hurt Evtuhov or not. Sichev is stalling here. The referee will be looking to step in if he doesn't pick up the pace. Sichev decides to pull guard. Sichev is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Evtuhov is aware though and is defending well. Sichev is working for submissions here. He's thrown up his legs looking for a tringle but Evtuhov frees his head nicely. Oh but Sichev has switched to an armbar! Evtuhov is tapping furiously! Lovely submission there!
