Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
11 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Juho Pennanen! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jay Scott! The judges for this bout are Chad Campbell, Jonathan Paton and Jorge Garcia.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Pennanen takes a shot to the body in his stride.
A clash of legs there as Scott blocks the low kick. Scott moves in looking to clinch but Pennanen pushes him off. Scott tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Scott throws a head kick that misses. Scott is looking to take this fight into the clinch. The fight stays on the outside here - Scott looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Pennanen keeps the fight on the outside. Scott tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Pennanen paws at him with a jab and circles away. Scott tries to clinch up. Scott swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Pennanen. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Pennanen drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. Pennanen trying to control the position from guard on top but Scott is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Pennanen throwing strikes but missing. Scott tries to land a sweep but no joy.
That's one minute gone in the round. Pennanen is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Pennanen seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. Scott keeping moving, preventing Pennanen from controlling successfully. Scott keeping full guard, as Pennanen tries to pass. Scott looking for a sweep. Not yet Scott, not yet.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Scott tries to clinch there but Pennanen circles away.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Scott tries to clinch but Pennanen moves out of range. Jay Scott seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Scott tries to close the distance and clinch but Pennanen swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Pennanen throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

Scott misses with an uppercut. Pennanen looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Scott! Scott avoids a series of strikes thrown by Pennanen.

Pennanen is giving the impression that he's looking to ground and pound but he switches suddenly into a beautiful far side armbar! Scott is forced to tap! Great finish!
