Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Solomon Jackson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dennis Rodman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Dennis Rodman will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Solomon Jackson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Dennis Rodman!
The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Frank Dennis and Tiny Johnson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rodman swings and misses with a hook to the body.

Jackson rushes Rodman and presses him up against the cage.

Jackson is trying to trip Rodman. He has hold of a leg but Rodman is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Jackson persists though and gets the takedown into guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Jackson wants to control from the top but Rodman keeps moving.
Jackson lands a couple of digs.

Rodman escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Jackson gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Jackson seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Rodman wriggles free and stands up.
Dennis Rodman seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Jackson closes the distance and clinches.
Jackson stops a takedown attempt from Rodman.

Jackson has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Rodman uses from the top position.
Jackson might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Jackson is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Jackson knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Rodman on the ground.
Jackson throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.
Rodman throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Jackson works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Jackson is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Jackson is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched.

Jackson jumps guard and drags Rodman to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
Rodman has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Jackson is proving hard to escape from.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

Rodman lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Jackson at a distance.
Jackson takes a body kick right on the floating rib. Ouchie.
Rodman feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Jackson's calf.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

and Rodman counters with an outside leg kick.
Rodman shoots in looking for a takedown. Jackson tries to sprawl out of it but Rodman keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Jackson manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Rodman lands a nice looking kick to the body. Jackson takes a step back to recover.
Rodman scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one.
Rodman cracks a nice hook into Jackson's ribs.
Jackson takes a head kick and keeps coming.
Rodman cracks the inside of Jackson's front leg.
Rodman with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Jackson takes a kick to the side of the head.
A good leg kick by Rodman.
Rodman throws a head kick that half lands.
A lazy left from Rodman finds it's target.
A nice inside leg kick there by Rodman. That's going to slow Jackson down.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Jackson tries to move into range but Rodman moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Dennis Rodman dominated that round.
That's time! Jackson's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Rodman connects with a looping right hand.
Jackson tries to close the distance and clinch up but Rodman swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Rodman lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
Jackson has a takedown stuffed.
Rodman lands with a good body shot.
Rodman comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
A slapping body kick lands there for Rodman.
Jackson takes a kick to the body and keeps moving.
Rodman shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Jackson pinned against the cage. Jackson gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
The step up in weight doesn't seem to be a problem for Rodman. He's performing admirably here against the bigger man.
Rodman is looking to slow Jackson down with leg kicks.
Rodman shoots in but no luck this time.
Rodman throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Jackson's head.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Rodman keeps Jackson at a distance using the push kick.

Rodman is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Rodman tries for a takedown but Jackson circles away easily

and Jackson counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Jackson.
Solomon Jackson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Dennis Rodman.

Jackson has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Rodman to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Jackson is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Rodman pulls down on the head and he's put Jackson to sleep! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:33 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Dennis Rodman!
