PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between don dunn (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and bill duckingson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 4 - 0, fighting out of London, don dunn!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, bill duckingson!
The judges for this bout are James Ackerman, Andrew Berry and James Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
dunn fails miserably with a takedown attempt.

duckingson shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. dunn is trying to defend but duckingson finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

duckingson stands up from half guard... He's had enough of that ground malarky for the time being.
dunn fails with an attempt to clinch.
dunn moves in looking to clinch but duckingson pushes him off.

dunn looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
duckingson is doing well to control the position and prevent dunn from advancing to side control.
duckingson is not content to let dunn control the position.

dunn seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
dunn is looking to take a break and control but duckingson is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
duckingson is trying to maintain the position but dunn is very close to passing his half guard.
duckingson tries to roll over but dunn keeps him under control.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
duckingson loads up on a big right hand but dunn slips the punch.
dunn throws a half hearted mid kick.

and dunn counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.

and dunn counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.
dunn throws a right and a left that duckingson avoids nicely.
dunn stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and dunn wants it to stay on the feet.

and duckingson counters with a nice double leg into guard.

duckingson wants to control from the top but dunn keeps moving.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

dunn lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for duckingson!

duckingson closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

and dunn holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.

duckingson tries a body shot but dunn blocks it.

The fight moves into the clinch position.

dunn wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
A head punch blocked on the inside by dunn.
duckingson is trying to force a seperation but dunn has the dominant position.
duckingson tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. dunn smiles and moves away.
don dunn has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of bill duckingson.

dunn has duckingson pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. duckingson manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
dunn is trying to break the clinch but duckingson is controlling him.

dunn has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics duckingson uses from the top position.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
duckingson stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. dunn swivels though and keeps the full guard.
duckingson with a flurry of punches that miss.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
duckingson throws a sloppy head kick
and dunn counters with a left and a right that stings duckingson.

duckingson shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
dunn really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
dunn gets back to full guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

bill duckingson showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!

duckingson takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

dunn is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched.
dunn landing knees to the body. They look like they could hurt.
duckingson drops down looking for an ankle pick but dunn pulls his leg out and moves away.

dunn feints and as duckingson raises his hands in defense, dunn changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

dunn drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and dunn jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
dunn slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
duckingson regains half guard.
duckingson has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. dunn is working away from the top position though.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
dunn is nestled in close to duckingson, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
dunn is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.

dunn will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
