Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Ray Louis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Zaito Mendez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Ray Louis! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Zaito Mendez! The judges for this bout are Shirou Masuda, Ren Mimura and Sosuke Kotani.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Louis gets a clinch. Mendez misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Louis.
Louis is trying to break the clinch but Mendez is controlling him. Mendez is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Louis is looking to break free of the clinch but Mendez has double underhooks. Louis is working Mendez over against the cage. Louis lands a nice shot to the body. Louis is leaning against Mendez and scores with a nice uppercut to the body. Mendez is trying to force a seperation but Louis has the dominant position. Louis cracks Mendez with a nice body shot. Louis wants to get back to striking at distance but Mendez won't allow it.

Mendez decides to pull guard. Louis stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Mendez swivels though and keeps the full guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Mendez throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
Louis pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Mendez is keeping the position for now. Mendez thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage. Louis controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. Mendez is looking for a triangle here but Louis uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.
Mendez looks gassed! Mendez tries to strike from the bottom but misses. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's three minutes gone in the round. The referee tells the fighters to keep busy. Mendez throws a couple of punches but he's in a bad position and they don't land. A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet. Mendez has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Mendez tries to strike but it doesn't land. Louis tries to advance to mount but can't. Louis decides to stand back up. Louis steps back and let's Mendez get back to his feet. Louis will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Horrible takedown by Mendez or perhaps it was just good defense by Louis which made him look bad. Louis throws a nice looking combination but Mendez bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Louis circles away from the clinch attempt and Louis holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch. Mendez misses with a body punch.

Louis breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Louis slaps away a takedown attempt from Mendez, before circling back to the center of the mat. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Mendez takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Mendez looks for a takedown but Louis sprawls well.

Mendez jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Louis walks away with a smile on his face. Mendez gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. Ray Louis has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Zaito Mendez. Mendez shoots in and drives through. Louis sprawls well. Louis displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Mendez. A right-left combo lands from Louis.

and Louis counters with a left and a right that stings Mendez. Mendez fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Louis avoids it really well and circles away. Louis cracks Mendez with a right hand to the side of the head. Louis tries to clinch but fails miserably and Mendez counters with a takedown into side control. Louis knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Mendez on the ground. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Mendez is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Louis has escaped the position, nice work there. Louis is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Mendez is controlling him well. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close second round but Zaito Mendez will probably get the nod - 10:9. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!

That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Louis wants to clinch up but Mendez keeps it at a distance. Louis misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

Mendez throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Louis works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Mendez throws a strike but Louis rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. Mendez is looking for a triangle here but Louis uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Louis tries to score with some ground and pound. Mendez controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage. Mendez tries to buck Louis off but Louis is having none of it. Mendez is not content to let Louis control the position. Mendez is positioning himself to get back to half guard. Mendez regains half guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Mendez is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Louis pulls his head out easily. Mendez blocking the ground and pound attempt from Louis.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Nice shot lands for Louis. Louis throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Mendez. Mendez shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Louis defends it nicely. Mendez fails with the takedown. Louis misses with a double jab.
And that's the end of the fight! Zaito Mendez comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I think Mendez has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
