Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 5 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Mickey Rourke!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 6 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Stan Winner!
The judges for this bout are Ivan Kurochkin, Illya Tyunina and Viktor Lagutenko.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Winner's corner calls for a 1-2. Winner obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.
Rourke doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.

Rourke drives through with a takedown into guard.
Rourke thows a big elbow that misses.
Rourke working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound.

Rourke postures up in Winner's guard and throws a big left but Winner blocks it.
Rourke has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Rourke drops back, looking for a kneebar! Winner looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Winner looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Winner!

Winner shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Rourke but Rourke pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Rourke takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.

Rourke throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land.
The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Rourke checks a leg kick.

Rourke tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Winner paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Rourke jumps guard but Winner stands there with Rourke around his waist. Rourke gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Rourke is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Winner is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Winner has escaped and now he's on top!

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!


Rourke changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Winner tries to avoid it but Rourke manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Winner to the ground. Winner escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Winner scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Rourke doesn't seem bothered though.

and Winner cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.

Winner connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
Winner leaves Rourke with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Mickey Rourke. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Well Winner has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
