Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Nick Johnson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Glenn Edwards (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
9 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Nick Johnson! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
8 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Glenn Edwards! The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, Chris Downing and Cecil Peabody.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Johnson uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Edwards. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Johnson. Johnson shoots in but Edwards avoids the takedown attempt easily. Edwards is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Johnson fails with an attempt to clinch.
Edwards has managed to clinch.
Johnson goes for a takedown in the clinch but Edwards prevents it.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Nick Johnson. That's going to take a lot out of him. Edwards breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Glenn Edwards seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Edwards shoots in and bounces Johnson off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Johnson looking to hit a scissor sweep but Edwards is one step ahead there. Johnson is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Johnson is working for an americana but Edwards has been sneaky and has managed to get back to half guard, whilst Johnson was thinking about the submission.
That's one minute gone in the round. Edwards has his foot on Johnson's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Johnson works his way back into a safe position though. Edwards throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.

Johnson in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Edwards will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.
Edwards is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Edwards thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage. Edwards is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Edwards is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Johnson defends well. Edwards working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Johnson doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Johnson manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Johnson is breathing heavily. Edwards has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Johnson can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Edwards looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Johnson wants to pass the guard but Edwards is keeping the position. Johnson trying to control but Edwards is working from the bottom. Johnson won't allow Edwards to sweep him here. Johnson trying to pass the guard. He's being very persistent here but Edwards manages to land a sweep and now he's on top! Edwards scores with a decent looking elbow strike.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Edwards controlling from the top position. Edwards drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Edwards jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Edwards is in close to Johnson's body, working some short punches and elbows. Edwards thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Edwards distracts Johnson with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm. Johnson keeping moving, preventing Edwards from controlling successfully. Edwards keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Johnson's head. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Glenn Edwards dominated that round. That's time! Johnson's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Edwards has closed the distance and engaged Johnson in a clinch.
Edwards pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Johnson gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Edwards holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch. Edwards is clearly stalling here... Pick up the pace son.
Edwards manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back. Edwards is working actively from the bottom, looking for submissions. He's escaped his hips to the side and he's going for an armbar! Johnson has his hands clasped together but Edwards extends an breaks Johnson's desperate grasp, forcing a tap out due to armbar! Nice BJJ displayed there by Edwards.
