Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between David Oahu (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Laban Kealoha (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, David Oahu!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Laban Kealoha!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Oahu shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Kealoha pinned against the cage. Kealoha gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Kealoha scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!
Oahu dives in and grabs Kealoha's left leg, looking for a takedown. Kealoha pushes down on Oahu's head and hops out.

Kealoha pushes Oahu up against the cage in a clinch.
Oahu goes for a takedown in the clinch but Kealoha prevents it.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for David Oahu. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Kealoha breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Nice sprawl there from Kealoha as Oahu shoots in.
Oahu closes this distance looking for a takedown but Kealoha circles away.

Kealoha looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Oahu is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Kealoha decides to return to a standing position.
Kealoha is looking to clinch.
Oahu misses with a takedown
and Kealoha counters with a lovely straight right hand!

That's one minute gone in the round.
Oahu takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
Oahu is breathing heavily.
Kealoha lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt.


It looks like David Oahu has been cut.
Kealoha tries to clinch up but Oahu circles away and keeps his distance.

Kealoha scores a takedown into full mount!
Oahu is desperately trying to improve his position but Kealoha has a good base and remains in mount.

Kealoha gets to his feet and calls his opponent to stand. Here come the fireworks!
Kealoha lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt.

Kealoha closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Kealoha has knee on belly and now moves to full mount! Trouble for Oahu!

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Oahu is in all sorts of trouble here.
Kealoha tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Let's hope that Kealoha has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Kealoha stands up from the dominant position, so we're back on the feet.

Kealoha closes the distance and pushes Oahu back into the cage.
Kealoha lands a nice uppercut.

Kealoha decides to pull guard.
Oahu pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Kealoha is keeping the position for now.
Oahu prevents Kealoha from getting back to his feet.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Oahu throws and elbow that misses. Kealoha uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Oahu's guard. Nice move by Kealoha!

Kealoha stands up from guard. Let's bang!
A punch combination from Oahu misses.

Kealoha gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Oahu missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.

Kealoha pushes Oahu off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.
Oahu throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped

and Kealoha decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Oahu's guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Oahu is wriggling around but Kealoha manages to pass to half guard.
Oahu trying to control but Kealoha postures up.
Kealoha has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Oahu tries to reverse the position but Kealoha maintains control.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Kealoha is controlling this nicely and is looking to make no mistakes. Oahu is trying to wiggle out of this horrible position. Oahu flips to his side and attempts to get a leg in for half guard. Kealoha anticipates the leg and manages to get behind Oahu and secures both hooks! This could be bad! Kealoha slips an arm under Oahu chin and tries to position for a rear naked choke. Kealoha has worked the choke in now and it looks tight. Kealoha is squeezing on Oahu like an anaconda would it's prey. Oahu fails to tap and has fallen unconscious! We've got ourselves a winner by way of a rear naked choke!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Laban Kealoha!
