Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Tony Castro!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Kim Silva!
The judges for this bout are Jorge Garcia, Joseph Jones and Eddie Farnsworth.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Castro misses with a double jab.
Silva lands a head kick!
Castro wants to clinch up but Silva keeps it at a distance.
Silva tries to score a power double leg takedown but Castro sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Silva somewhat.
Castro fails with a takedown attempt.
Silva doesn't succeed with the takedown

so Castro counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.

Silva has his foot on Castro's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Castro works his way back into a safe position though.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Silva is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Silva is looking for a triangle but Castro pushes his legs off easily.

Silva has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Castro can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Castro is breathing heavily.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Castro won't allow Silva to sweep him here.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Silva has his foot on Castro's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Castro works his way back into a safe position though.
Castro knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Silva on the ground.

Castro gets to his feet - Silva follows without any prompting.

Castro throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Silva was covering up waiting for the punch and Castro finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Castro shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Silva as he avoids it easily.

That was a close round but I would say that Tony Castro will probably get the nod.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Silva is trying hard to land a takedown here. Castro sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Silva tries to clinch but Castro moves out of range.
Tony Castro is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Silva dives in and grabs Castro's left leg, looking for a takedown. Castro pushes down on Silva's head and hops out.

Silva throws out a loose jab but Castro uses good head movement to avoid it.
Castro misses with a series of wild punches.
Castro fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Silva tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

Castro has taken the fight to the clinch.
Silva lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Castro backwards.
Silva tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.

Silva escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Castro looks to land a body kick but Silva moved away.
Castro fails in his attempt to clinch.
Silva scores with a head kick.
No luck for Silva with that takedown attempt.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Castro moves into the clinch successfully.

Castro decides to pull guard.
Silva won't allow Castro to sweep him here.
Silva wants to stand but Castro has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
Silva wants to pass the guard but Castro is keeping the position.
Castro is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Silva shoots for a takedown but Castro saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Castro scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.

Silva had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Castro defends it easily.

and Castro counters with a series of strikes. Silva will be more careful next time no doubt.

Castro throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Silva's waist but Silva gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Castro off to one side.

and Silva decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Castro's guard.
