Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Mauri Ruoska (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mark Woleman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Ruoska might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Rolling Stones - Sympathy for the devil. Mark Woleman will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

9 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Mark Woleman! The judges for this bout are Trevor Gratis, Alec Ball and Yves DeLean.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Woleman shoots in looking for a takedown. Ruoska tries to sprawl out of it but Woleman keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Ruoska manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Ruoska cracks Woleman with a good jab. Woleman tries to score a power double leg takedown but Ruoska sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Woleman somewhat. Woleman connects with a jab. Woleman dips down and scores with a jab to the body. Ruoska missing with a left hand there. Woleman was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. Woleman shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Ruoska as he jumps to the side. Mauri Ruoska has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mark Woleman. Ruoska keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Ruoska doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body. Wow, both these guys are really going for it! The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Ruoska tries to lock up and control but Woleman gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Woleman takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. Woleman is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Woleman lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.

The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Woleman cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
Ruoska is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. Ruoska holding onto his opponent's waist for dear life, as Woleman tries to land some strikes to get him to release his grip.
Poor strikes thrown by Woleman there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!

Woleman fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Ruoska manages to avoid it. No luck for Woleman with that takedown attempt. Woleman misses with a looping left. Woleman throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd. Crunch! Ruoska slams his shin into Woleman's torso. Ruoska listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut. Woleman moves out of range as Ruoska strikes. Ruoska tries to bum rush Woleman with a series of wild strikes but Woleman uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Woleman takes a swing at Ruoska's ribcage but misses. Woleman digs a good body shot into Ruoska's ribs. Woleman takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Woleman moves out of range of the leg kick from Ruoska. Woleman bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Woleman moving around in side mount but really he's just happy to control for now. Woleman scores with punches from side control.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Woleman drives through with a takedown into guard. Woleman sitting in guard, not really doing much. Woleman with a flurry of punches that miss. Ruoska utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Woleman looking to control the position here, rather than advance. Ruoska avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Woleman is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. Ruoska is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Woleman not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. Ruoska might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Woleman trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Ruoska wants to stand and escape but Woleman is having none of it.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Ruoska looking to hit a scissor sweep but Woleman is one step ahead there. Woleman not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
