PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Nick Kline (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nepobedimiy Udarnik (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 6 - 0, fighting out of New York, Nick Kline!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Nepobedimiy Udarnik!
The judges for this bout are Jonathan Paton, Columbo Gatti and Anthony Taglia.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kline shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Udarnik misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Kline shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Udarnik's guard.
Udarnik should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
Kline trying to control but Udarnik is working from the bottom.
Kline stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Udarnik swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Kline trying to control the position from guard on top but Udarnik is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Kline controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Kline drops back looking for a leg! Udarnik is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Udarnik manages to kick Kline off! Kline jumps back into Udarnik's guard.
Udarnik keeping moving, preventing Kline from controlling successfully.
Udarnik is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

Kline changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Udarnik looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Kline has knee on belly and moves into mount.

Kline is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Udarnik can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
Kline looking to control but Udarnik is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.

Kline is controlling this nicely and is looking to make no mistakes. Udarnik is trying to wiggle out of this horrible position. Udarnik flips to his side and attempts to get a leg in for half guard. Kline anticipates the leg and manages to get behind Udarnik and secures both hooks! This could be bad! Kline slips an arm under Udarnik chin and tries to position for a rear naked choke. Kline has worked the choke in now and it looks tight. Kline is squeezing on Udarnik like an anaconda would it's prey. Udarnik fails to tap and has fallen unconscious! We've got ourselves a winner by way of a rear naked choke!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:02 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Nick Kline!
