Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Dennis Akin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gabriel Gray (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Dennis Akin! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Gabriel Gray! The judges for this bout are Jonathan Paton, Bruno Lombardi and Reed Andrews.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A telegraphed takedown attempt from Gray is defended easily by Akin. Gray lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt. Gray gets a takedown into half guard. Gray controlling the action here. Akin wants to get back to his feet. Akin blocking the ground and pound attempt from Gray. Gray missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. Akin knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Gray on the ground. Gray gets to his feet - back to striking we go!
That's one minute gone in the round. Jab, jab by Gray - just one landing. Gray shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Akin is trying to defend but Gray finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further. Gray looking to pass the half guard. Not this time. Gray not landing any meaningful shots this time. Akin wants to get back to his feet.
Gray takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position. Gray throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Gray moves into full mount! Akin won't be happy about that! Gray lands a big elbow. Gray working for a submission but Akin is keeping him at bay. Gray tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. Akin is really trying hard to get back to his feet.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Gray controlling from mount. Gray thowing shots but they're missing. Gray has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Akin defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Gray.
That's four minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Gray wants to finish this one by submission but Akin is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Gray. You get the feeling that Akin really doesn't like being in this position too much.
Gray landing strikes, looking to finish! Gray is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Akin has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Akin! Gray controlling Akin's posture. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Gabriel Gray dominated that round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Akin throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Gray misses with a head kick.
Gray fails in his attempt to clinch. Gray closes the distance and pushes Akin back into the cage. Akin goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
Gray looking for a takedown. Gray wants to break free but Akin has control.
Akin tries to throw a body punch but Gray avoids it by throwing Akin back against the cage. Akin misses with a body punch.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Gray missing with knees to the body.
Akin is pressed up against the cage. Gray has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Akin down to the mat. Akin avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance. Nice takedown defense from Akin. No joy for Gray on that attempt. Dennis Akin has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Gabriel Gray. Gray bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Gray stands up. Gray is breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Akin scores with a nice right hand.
Gray tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Akin paws at him with a jab and circles away. Akin lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Gray backs up against the cage.
It looks like Gabriel Gray has been cut. The fight moves into the clinch position. Gray is working for takedown but Akin is calmly controlling the position for now. Akin misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Gray.

Akin lands a hook to the body. It's hard to tell if that hurt Gray or not. Akin tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage. Gray is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Akin is keeping busy. Gray manages to break the clinch.
Gray tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Akin paws at him with a jab and circles away.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Gray closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Gray lands in his opponent's guard. Gray missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Akin is wriggling around but Gray manages to pass to half guard.
Akin is defending against the submission attempts here by Gray.
Akin wants to stand back up but Gray manages to pass into side control.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Akin tries to get back to his feet but has found himself mounted instead. Damn, that's gotta suck. Gray landing shots from mount. Gray is working for a guillotine from mount but Akin frees his head quite easily.
Gray scoring with some good ground and pound from mount here. Will he manage to finish Akin?

That's four minutes gone in the round. Gray working Akin over with strikes here. Akin has given up his back, trying to stand up. Not clever. Gray is controlling his opponent, waiting for an opportunity to finish. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Gabriel Gray showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The cut man is working on Gabriel Gray's cut. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. And we move into the final round!
Gray fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Akin sprawls well initially but Gray persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Akin wants to get back to his feet. Gray stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Akin to get to his feet. Gabriel Gray seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Gray shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Gray was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Gray unloading with bombs! The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Akin taking shots to the head. Gray lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.
Gray is working close to his opponent, looking to work a submission by the looks of things. Oh, he's managed to get a guillotine from mount as his opponent reached up! That looks tiiiiight! Will he tap? YES, he's tapped! Impressive submission by Gray!
