Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Teppo Taistelija (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Victor Vegas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Vegas has chosen Marylin Mansons "Beautiful People" as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Teppo Taistelija!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Victor Vegas!
The judges for this bout are Konstantin Menshow, Igor Prikhodko and Aleksandr Martynov.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Vegas closes the distance and clinches up with Taistelija, looking for a takedown. Vegas pushes Taistelija against the cage but Taistelija circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Taistelija gets a takedown into half guard.
Vegas wants to get back to full guard but Taistelija has mounted him!
Vegas slips a leg in and gets back to half guard.
Vegas is not content to let Taistelija control the position.

Vegas is looking for a sweep. Taistelija is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Vegas is trying to get back to his feet but Taistelija has full control of the position and if anything, Vegas has just worked his way into a worse spot.
Taistelija just keeping the dominant position. He can't wait too long though, otherwise the referee will stand them back up.

Vegas is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Taistelija gets his way!

Taistelija has hold of Vegas's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Vegas manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

Taistelija has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Vegas is bucking up trying to escape but Taistelija cracks him with another couple of good strikes.

Taistelija is really struggling to control Vegas but he's trying to hold on to the position.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Teppo Taistelija dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Vegas misses with a takedown

and Taistelija counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Vegas is pressing down on Taistelija's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
Taistelija trying to control the position from guard on top but Vegas is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The referee stands the fighters back up. Teppo Taistelija just wasn't active enough from the dominant position.

and Taistelija counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Taistelija.
Vegas is trying to break free.
Taistelija is looking to control Vegas's arms but Vegas gets an underhook and turns him. Now Taistelija has his back to the cage.
Vegas has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Taistelija avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
Taistelija is pressed up against the cage. Vegas has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Taistelija down to the mat. Taistelija avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Teppo Taistelija has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Victor Vegas.
Nice takedown defense from Vegas. No joy for Taistelija on that attempt.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Vegas cracks Taistelija with a big right hand that sends him crashing to the floor. Vegas has the opportunity to follow him to the ground but instead he's beckoning Taistelija to stand back up!


It looks like Teppo Taistelija has been cut.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for leaving it all in the cage!

Vegas ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Taistelija moves away.
Victor Vegas seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
