Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Smith throws the kick towards the body but Romerio avoids it. Smith stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Smith wants it to stay on the feet. Smith doesn't succeed with the takedown and Romerio counters with a shoot takedown. Smith fights it but they end up in guard. Romerio stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Smith swivels though and keeps the full guard. Smith looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Romerio trying to control the position from guard on top but Smith is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Romerio throwing strikes from guard but Smith blocks nicely. Smith looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Romerio shoots in but Smith avoids the takedown attempt easily. Romerio misses the shot to the body. Romerio tries to land a sweep but no joy. Smith throws and elbow that misses. Romerio uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Smith's guard. Nice move by Romerio!

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Smith fails in his attempt to clinch. Smith tries to clinch up but Romerio circles away and keeps his distance. Romerio fails with the takedown. Smith with a poor takedown and Romerio counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. Romerio takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position. Smith is trying to maintain the position but Romerio is very close to passing his half guard. Romerio has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Romerio looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Smith wants to get back to full guard. Romerio is breathing heavily.

The fighters roll with the hold and Smith manages to kick Romerio off! Romerio jumps back into Smith's guard. Smith manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Smith lands a nice shot to the head. Romerio regains half guard. Smith sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Romerio defending well though. Romerio is trying to get back to full guard. Romerio is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Smith pulls his head out easily. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Julio Romerio showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's time! Smith's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!

Oh, Smith has exploded into a beautiful escape there and after a quick scramble, he's ended up in side control on top! Nice work! Smith wants to lay and pray for a moment but Romerio keeps working. Julio Romerio has got the better of the ground game so far. Romerio wants to control but Smith postures up.
And that's the end of the fight! Julio Romerio comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I've got Romerio winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
