6 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Earth Quake! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
8 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jesus Sakes! The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Daniel Franklin and Cecil Peabody.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A leg kick checked by Sakes. Quake blocks a head kick by Sakes.
Quake throws a hook but Sakes blocks it. Donk. Quake catches Sakes right on the button with a cross. Quake connects with a single shot there. This has been an exciting period of action! Sakes shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Quake as he jumps to the side. Quake missing with a left hand there. Sakes was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. Sakes lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.
It looks like Earth Quake has been cut. Quake looks to score with a jab to the body but Sakes is just out of range. Quake has taken the fight to the clinch.
Quake crunches a lovely knee into Sakes's ribcage. Quake landing knees to the body. They look like they could hurt.

The ref breaks the fighters up, due to lack of action by Earth Quake. Sakes shoots for a takedown but Quake saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Quake wants to clinch up but Sakes keeps it at a distance. Sakes misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Quake.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Sakes is defended easily by Quake. Earth Quake has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jesus Sakes. Sakes fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Quake uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook. Sakes blocks a jab. Sakes defending well as Quake loads up on a big left hand. Quake falls off balance throwing a combination
and Sakes counters with a three punch combo that has Quake backing up. Quake nods at Sakes to acknowledge the strikes. Quake tries to close the distance and clinch but Sakes swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Quake just misses with a punch to the body.

Quake goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo. Sakes takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him. That's one minute gone in the round. Quake takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket. Quake throws a hook but Sakes blocks it. Quake fails in his attempt to clinch. Earth Quake is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Sakes takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Sakes is breathing heavily. Sakes ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. Quake throws the kick towards the body but Sakes avoids it. Quake tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Sakes misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

and Sakes counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Quake has a closed guard, preventing Sakes from standing up. Sakes has gone for a leg lock! Quake slips out almost immediately though and dives into Sakes's guard. Sakes keeping full guard, as Quake tries to pass. Sakes looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Sakes working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Quake. Quake knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Sakes on the ground. Sakes looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Sakes fails with a takedown attempt. Earth Quake is winning the standup battle so far. A decent looking body kick lands there for Quake. Sakes checks the leg kick. Quake fakes a jab and then connects with a hook. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Quake tries to clinch and Sakes counters with a nice double leg into half guard. That was a close second round but I would say that Earth Quake will probably get the nod. The cut man is working on Earth Quake's cut. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Sakes misses with a few strikes there.

Sakes shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Quake but Quake pushes him off and we're back to square one. Earth Quake has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jesus Sakes. Quake tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Sakes was well out of range. Poor timing from Quake. A head kick by Quake misses and Sakes counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Sakes throws a strike but Quake rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. Sakes keeping moving, preventing Quake from controlling successfully.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Quake looking to control the position here, rather than advance. Quake slips nicely into half guard. Jesus Sakes has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Sakes wants to improve his position but Quake is controlling well.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Quake wants to stand but his hand is trapped. Sakes uses the opportunity to regain full guard. Quake would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard. Quake avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Quake has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Quake pushes down on Sakes's leg and manages to get into half guard. Quake trying to control the action but Sakes is working from the bottom.
That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Quake moves into side control, avoiding a weak kimura attempt from Sakes. Quake stands up and we're back to a striking position. Sakes misses with a combination
and Quake counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Quake. Earth Quake is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Nice body punch from Quake.
