PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Lucian Rodrigues (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Habib Arellano (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). On his way into the cage it seems that Lucian Rodrigues has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Lucian Rodrigues seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

The judges for this bout are Alexandre Firmino, Leandro Rodrigues and Seu Braga.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Arellano fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Rodrigues sprawls well initially but Arellano persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Arellano seems to be looking for submissions.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Lucian Rodrigues.

Rodrigues escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Rodrigues closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Rodrigues decides to stand up, so the ref orders Arellano to his feet.
The fight stays on the outside here - Rodrigues looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Lucian Rodrigues has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Habib Arellano.

The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Rodrigues cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

Rodrigues is sitting in close to Arellano's body. Arellano has gone for a guillotine from the bottom. Oh damn, that looks pretty tight! Rodrigues is panicking - it looks like this one could be all over! Yes, Rodrigues is tapping! That was a very nice submission by Arellano.
