Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Peter Stringer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rainer Zufal (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Peter Stringer!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Rainer Zufal!
The judges for this bout are Eliza Hachem, Donatello Bradman and Steve Erwin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Stringer misses with a takedown attempt - Zufal sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Zufal has managed to clinch.
Zufal is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Stringer fails to pull guard.

Stringer jumps guard but Zufal stands there with Stringer around his waist. Stringer gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Stringer might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Let's hope that Zufal has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
Zufal is looking to stand up but Stringer isn't so interested in that idea.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Zufal wants the takedown. Stringer is fighting it off but Zufal persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Stringer's guard against the cage.
Zufal is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

Zufal must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Stringer shoots for a double leg takedown but Zufal sprawls well. He's pushed Stringer's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Zufal lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Rainer Zufal dominated that round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

Zufal rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Stringer moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

and Stringer counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Zufal really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Stringer. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Stringer is pushing down on Zufal's leg trying to pass to half guard. Zufal is fighting to maintain full guard but Stringer has managed to sneak the leg through.

Stringer is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!

Stringer is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Zufal is surviving well by controlling Stringer's body position as best he can.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Zufal is working to get back to half guard.

Zufal tries to improve his position but Stringer has taken his back! Stringer has a choke - it's sunk in pretty tight... Will Zufal tap? No... maybe... yes! He's tapped! Stringer pushes Zufal away and gets up to celebrate with his corner!
