Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between John Taylor (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Raimundo Kawaguchi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Taylor's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, ROCKY TRIBUTE -- EYE OF THE TIGER. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.

With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Raimundo Kawaguchi!
The judges for this bout are Summer Carpenter, Skip Squint and Bruno Hogan.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Kawaguchi closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Kawaguchi lands in his opponent's guard.

Taylor throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Kawaguchi was covering up waiting for the punch and Taylor finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Taylor knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Kawaguchi on the ground.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Taylor has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Kawaguchi uses from the top position.

Taylor sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it!
Taylor wants to control the pace but Kawaguchi is squirming around nicely.

Raimundo Kawaguchi showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. And we move into the final round!



Kawaguchi closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Taylor tries to get to full guard but Kawaguchi has control of the leg.
Kawaguchi is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.
Kawaguchi thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Taylor is trying to control but can't.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Taylor is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Kawaguchi is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
Taylor flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.
Kawaguchi takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.

Kawaguchi is looking for a kimura but Taylor is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Kawaguchi to get the leverage.
Taylor has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Kawaguchi is working away from the top position though.

Taylor is staying active underneath Kawaguchi, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
