The judges for this bout are Dmitry Maklakov, Ivan Kurochkin and Sergei Dronov.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Shlemenko tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Penn paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Shlemenko displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Penn.
Shlemenko shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Penn napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Shlemenko is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Shlemenko tries to lock up and control but Penn gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
