Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Sterling Contreras!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Devon Jones!
The judges for this bout are Bruno Lombardi, Chad Campbell and Jorge Garcia.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Contreras tries for a takedown but Jones sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
A big left from Contreras misses.
Jones throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Contreras's waist but Contreras gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Jones off to one side.
Contreras chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Jones can pounce on him.
Jones fails in his attempt to clinch.
Contreras swats away the attempt to clinch by Jones.
Jones lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
Contreras shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Jones as he jumps to the side.
Jones tries to clinch up.
Contreras on the wrong end of a kick to the body.
Jones tries to close the distance and clinch up but Contreras swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Jones closes the distance and lands a one-two.
Jones keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Sterling Contreras. That's going to take a lot out of him.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Contreras closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Jones is trying to get back to full guard.
Jones is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.

Jones is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Contreras pulls his head out easily.

Jones is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Some wild striking there from Jones.
Contreras dives in and grabs Jones's left leg, looking for a takedown. Jones pushes down on Contreras's head and hops out.

Contreras scores a takedown into full mount!
Jones is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Jones reaches up to try and control the position but Contreras seems to have an arm triangle now! Uh oh! Jones rolls and tries to escape and now Contreras has his back!
Contreras gets his hands free as Jones looks to control.

Contreras is remaining active here, looking for the choke. The more discerning members of the crowd will appreciate his efforts.
Jones just trying to survive but Contreras is wriggling into a better position, looking to finish.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Jones tries to roll but Contreras sticks to his back.
Jones wants to control his opponent's hands but Contreras gets his hands free.
Contreras struggling to land strikes to the head as Jones covers up.
Jones trying to get back to his feet but Contreras is in full control for now.
Jones looks to control his opponent's hands but he's not mananging it at the moment.
You can see the frustration on Jones's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Contreras working for the rear naked choke here. He's got one arm under but Jones is defending well. A couple of punches soften him up though and Contreras has tightened the hold! This one could be all over! It is! Jones taps out!
