The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Grigoric tries to clinch but Cross is having none of it.
Jeez, both these guys look absolutely knackered already, that's not a good sign!
Grigoric shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Cross as he jumps to the side.
Cross feints and as Grigoric raises his hands in defense, Cross changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Grigoric looking for a sweep. Not yet Grigoric, not yet.
Cross drops back, looking for a kneebar! Grigoric looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Grigoric looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Grigoric!
Grigoric tries to score with some ground and pound. Cross controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.

Grigoric thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Grigoric prevents Cross from escaping the position.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Grigoric looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
Grigoric wants to lay and pray for a moment but Cross keeps working.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Grigoric trying to control the action but Cross is working from the bottom.
Grigoric tries to move into full mount but can't pass Cross's legs.

That was a close round but I would say that Ricky Cross will probably get the nod.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
Grigoric fails with an attempt to clinch.
Grigoric gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Cross counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
Cross seems to be looking for submissions.
Cross is looking for a kimura here.
Grigoric trying to control from the bottom.

Cross seems to be working for a kimura but Grigoric defends the submission attempt.
Cross is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Cross will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Grigoric looking for submissions off his back.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Cross seems like he's working for an arm triangle here. He's freed his trapped foot and he's rotating nicely. Grigoric is in big trouble! He's tapping out! This one is aaaaaaaaaaaall over!
