Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Norman Reeves (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dirt McGirk (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). McGirk comes into a darkened arena with his song building. This Is Who I Am kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Dirt McGirk will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Dirt McGirk!
The judges for this bout are George Francis, Stewart Dunkirk and Chris Downing.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A punch lands to the side of Reeves 's head but he takes it in his stride.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!

Reeves looking for a takedown here - he's got it.

McGirk is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched.
McGirk scores with a shot to the side of Reeves's head.

McGirk's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
McGirk has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.
Nice takedown defense from McGirk. No joy for Reeves on that attempt.
Dirt McGirk seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Reeves pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Reeves could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Reeves tries to clinch up but McGirk circles away and keeps his distance.
Reeves is looking to take this fight into the clinch.

Reeves shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. McGirk is trying to defend but Reeves finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

Reeves is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
McGirk really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Reeves. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

McGirk is defending against the submission attempts here by Reeves.

Reeves throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
McGirk trying to control from the bottom.
Reeves stops McGirk from getting back to his feet.

Reeves is trying to work for a kimura but McGirk is defending well.

Reeves is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Reeves is breathing heavily.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Reeves tries to pass to full mount but McGirk defends it.
Reeves wants to lay and pray for a moment but McGirk keeps working.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
McGirk misses with a straight left.
Reeves shoots in for a takedown but McGirk shows good takedown defense.
McGirk misses with a looping right.
McGirk avoids a punch combination nicely.
Reeves is trying hard to land a takedown here. McGirk sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Norman Reeves. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Reeves avoids a lazy jab quite easily.

McGirk looks to land a left hand but Reeves moved out of range nicely.

Reeves takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.


Reeves is rocked!
McGirk missing with a left hand there. Reeves was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
McGirk looks to land a left hand but Reeves moved out of range nicely.
Reeves uses good head movement to avoid the hook from McGirk.
McGirk might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.
McGirk thuds his right hand into Reeves's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky.
McGirk fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.
Oh Reeves is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

McGirk cracks Reeves with a big right hand that sends him crashing to the floor. McGirk has the opportunity to follow him to the ground but instead he's beckoning Reeves to stand back up!
McGirk cracks a nice hook into Reeves's ribs.
McGirk drops Reeves with a big left hand! Reeves is injured, injured bad! McGirk jumps in and finished him with strikes! The fight is over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:48 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Dirt McGirk!
