PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Chris Tyson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Denn Danjer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Tyson comes into the arena with Celldweller - Own Little World blaring out of the sound system. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are William Gold, James Ackerman and Donald Grub.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Tyson closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Danjer did well to prevent Tyson getting side control.
Danjer wants to get back to his feet.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Tyson not landing any meaningful shots this time.
Tyson seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Danjer tries to kick Tyson off but Tyson keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.

Danjer takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.

Tyson is landing with some decent strikes but Danjer is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.

and Tyson counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Tyson.

Tyson has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Danjer looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Tyson puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Danjer is breathing heavily.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Tyson connects with a nice short shot to Danjer's temple.

Tyson postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Danjer looks a forlorn figure.

Danjer is bucking up trying to escape but Tyson cracks him with another couple of good strikes.

Danjer is looking to improve his position but Tyson isn't that keen on the idea.

The referee warns Danjer that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
Tyson is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Danjer can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! This is the final round!

so Tyson counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Danjer can do anything to dispel that myth.

The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Tyson lands a nice short elbow.

Danjer is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Danjer wants to get back to full guard but Tyson has passed into side control.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Denn Danjer has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Chris Tyson is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Chris Tyson showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Tyson, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
