Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Dave Guiness (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Chris Roy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Dave Guiness!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Chris Roy!
The judges for this bout are George Francis, Stewart Dunkirk and Alan Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Guiness throws a head kick that lands with a deafening thwack! The crowd roars as Roy stumbles backwards and falls to the mat. Guiness follows into mount!


Roy is rocked!


It looks like Chris Roy has been cut.
Roy wants to control but Guiness is having none of it.
Roy is still in real trouble! Can Guiness finish him?
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Guiness shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Roy pinned against the cage. Roy gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

and Guiness counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Roy!

Guiness wants to free his trapped foot but Roy is holding on for dear life with his legs.

Roy looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Guiness puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard.
Roy has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Guiness is working away from the top position though.
Guiness is looking to take a break and control but Roy is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Guiness is looking to pass Roy's guard but actually Roy recovers to full guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Dave Guiness will probably get the nod.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Roy is pressing down on Guiness's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.

Roy gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
Guiness takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.

Guiness wants to lay and pray for a moment but Roy keeps working.

and Roy counters with a series of strikes. Guiness will be more careful next time no doubt.

Guiness looks frusrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

Guiness shoots in but Roy avoids the takedown attempt easily.

Guiness shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Roy pinned against the cage. Roy gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

and Roy takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Guiness throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Roy's waist but Roy gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Guiness off to one side.

Guiness punishes Roy's body with a nice straight punch.

Roy prevents Guiness from getting back to his feet.
Roy slips nicely into half guard.

Roy is working for a submission of some sort.

Roy in half guard on the top. He's looking for a kimura... He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. Guiness tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from Roy!
