Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Chris Carter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bakkis Pienarr (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look pumped up here. Let's hope this is a good fight!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Bakkis Pienarr!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Pienarr gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Carter to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Pienarr keeping moving, preventing Carter from controlling successfully.
Carter throwing strikes from guard but Pienarr blocks nicely.
Pienarr is pulling down on Carter's head. It's preventing any offense from Carter, at least for the moment.
Carter throws a big right hand that misses.

Carter pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Pienarr is keeping the position for now.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Carter pushes down on Pienarr's leg and manages to get into half guard.

Carter wants to pass the guard but Pienarr is defending well.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Carter thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Pienarr's head.

Pienarr really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Carter. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

Carter displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Pienarr throws out the jab.

Carter shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Pienarr's guard.
Carter postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Pienarr wants to stand and escape but Carter is having none of it.

Carter creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Pienarr sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Pienarr keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Carter fails with the takedown.

Pienarr scores to the head and body with a nice combination!


It looks like Chris Carter has been cut.

Pienarr cracks Carter with a big right hand that sends him crashing to the floor. Pienarr has the opportunity to follow him to the ground but instead he's beckoning Carter to stand back up!

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Pienarr moves in looking to clinch but Carter pushes him off.
Pienarr throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Carter sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Pienarr takes a swing at Carter's ribcage but misses.

Pienarr gets caught flat footed, as Carter shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Carter keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Pienarr's head.
Carter postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Carter has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Carter accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Pienarr avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Pienarr can do anything to dispel that myth.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Pienarr throws a series of punches but Carter avoids them all with ease.
Carter looks for a takedown but Pienarr sprawls well.
Carter fails to land with a series of punches.

Carter is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Pienarr's half guard.

Carter wants to work for an arm triangle but Pienarr is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

Carter is trying to work for a kimura but Pienarr is defending well.
Carter is figuring out what he wants to do next.
Carter is nestled in close to Pienarr, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

Carter scores with a couple of good hammerfists.
Pienarr is staying active underneath Carter, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Carter throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.

Carter tries to pass to full mount but Pienarr defends it.
Carter takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Carter is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Pienarr tries to get to full guard but Carter has control of the leg.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Carter seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Pienarr does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!



Pienarr gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Carter stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Pienarr swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Pienarr wants to get back to his feet but Carter is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Carter has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Pienarr off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.
Pienarr throws a sloppy head kick and Carter moves out of range easily.
Carter throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Carter moves out of range as Pienarr strikes.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
A combination from Carter does no damage.
A lazy left from Pienarr finds it's target.
A big right followed by a crushing left from Pienarr knocks Carter out cold! Ouch - that one's going to be featured in highlight reels for years to come!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:12 of round 3, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Bakkis Pienarr!
