The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Olson misses with a straight left. Nice takedown defense from Desouza. No joy for Olson on that attempt. Olson misses with a looping right. Olson closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Desouza wants to control but Olson postures up. Desouza manages to get back to half guard. Desouza regains full guard. Nicely done. Desouza looking to control.
Olson stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Desouza swivels though and keeps the full guard. Olson loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Desouza is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Desouza trying to keep a closed guard but Olson is proving a slippery customer.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Desouza shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Olson gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Desouza moves into the clinch. Desouza pulls Olson into guard.

Desouza prevents Olson from getting the reversal. Olson tries to lock up and control but Desouza gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Desouza sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment. Desouza punching from mount but Olson doing a good job of avoiding damage.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. The fight stays on the outside here - Desouza looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Olson with a lazy takedown attempt and Desouza counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Olson! That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Hank Olson. That's going to take a lot out of him. That was a close second round but I would say that Hank Olson will probably get the nod. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!

Desouza feints and as Olson raises his hands in defense, Desouza changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Desouza slips nicely into half guard. Well, if Desouza is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

Desouza seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Olson does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Desouza is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

That's four minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Desouza bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Olson is trying to get back to his feet. A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet. Olson is trying to control Desouza's posture but Desouza avoids it. Desouza is trying to get an arm triangle but Olson is defending well. Olson on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Olson tries to get out of the position. Olson is trying to buck Desouza off. Desouza wants to lay and pray for a moment but Olson keeps working. Desouza decides to stand up, so the ref orders Olson to his feet. And that's the end of the fight! Eric Desouza comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Desouza has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
