Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Rashard Jackson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Oscar Vega (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Vega stuffs the takedown attempt from Jackson. Jackson gets slowly back to his feet. Jackson throws a quick inside leg kick. Jackson shoots in for a takedown but Vega shows good takedown defense. Jackson darts in and clinches Vega up against the cage. Vega working hard to break the clinch. Jackson stalls. Vega wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee. Jackson is clearly stalling here... Pick up the pace son.
Both fighters working to control the clinch. Jackson's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Vega darts in trying to clinch and Jackson counters with a good, hard body kick but Vega shrugs it off.
That's one minute gone in the round. Jackson turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick. Jackson pushes Vega up against the cage in a clinch. Vega tries a knee to the head but Jackson blocks it.
Jackson has Vega pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Jackson pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Vega tumbling to the mat - Jackson dives into Vega's guard. Jackson trying to control the position from guard on top but Vega is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Jackson might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Jackson controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. Vega is trying to hold Jackson in close to prevent damage but Jackson has managed to pass into half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Vega controlling the leg, holding on to half guard. Jackson missing with the ground and pound from half guard. It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Vega closes the distance but Jackson moves to the side and Jackson counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Vega's guard now. Jackson is breathing heavily. Vega throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.

That's four minutes gone in the round. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Jackson throwing hammer fists to the chest of Vega. What's that going to do exactly? Jackson tries to buck Vega off but he can't manage it. Vega tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. Jackson tries to get back to half guard but can't. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Vega darts in trying to clinch and Jackson counters by clinching up. Vega jumps guard and drags Jackson to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back. Jackson knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Vega on the ground. Vega is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage. Jackson trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Jackson being controlled here momentarily. Jackson trying to control but Vega is working from the bottom. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Vega has his hands on Jackson's head, controlling the position.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Jackson is trying hard to land a takedown here. Vega sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Jackson connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt. Jackson misses with a takedown attempt - Vega sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Vega wants to clinch up but Jackson keeps it at a distance. Jackson shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Vega defends it nicely. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Rashard Jackson. That's going to take a lot out of him. Jackson will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Vega closes the distance looking to clinch and Jackson counters with a stiff right hand.

Vega is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Vega decides to stand up. Vega darts in trying to clinch and Jackson holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Vega wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee. A frustrated look appears on Vega's face as he tries to break the clinch. Jackson tries to pull guard but Vega won't allow it.

A head punch on the inside from Vega fails to land. Vega tries to circle away but Jackson has him pinned against the cage. Jackson has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Vega is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet. Vega prevents the takedown attempt.
Vega has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate. Vega manages to break the clinch.
Vega tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Vega is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Vega throws a low kick, looking for Jackson's leg but Jackson calmly moves out of range. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close second round but Oscar Vega will probably get the nod - 10:9. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!
Vega closes the distance but Jackson moves to the side and Jackson counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Vega! Jackson tries to control but Vega wriggling away. Jackson avoids the attempt from Vega to control. Vega stops Jackson from taking his back. Still, being mounted isn't any better. Vega is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Both fighters are breathing heavily. Vega slips a leg in and gets back to half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. The fighters are battling for position here. Vega manages to regain full guard. Nice work. Jackson wants to get up but he can't break Vega's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. Vega looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Vega controls Jackson momentarily but Jackson frees himself. Jackson passes into half guard. Jackson is looking to stall here but Vega recovers full guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Vega looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it. Jackson with a flurry of punches that miss. Jackson stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Vega swivels though and keeps the full guard. Vega wants to sweep but no luck.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Jackson looking to sit in guard and control but Vega gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Vega wants to control from the top but Jackson keeps moving. Jackson wants to sweep but no luck. Vega stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Jackson swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Jackson doesn't manage to clinch there - Vega circles away.
Vega wants to clinch but Jackson slips to the side so Jackson counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Jackson trying to control the position from guard on top but Vega is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Jackson throws a strike but Vega rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. Vega distracts Jackson with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm. Vega is pushing down on Jackson's leg trying to pass to half guard. Jackson is fighting to maintain full guard but Vega has managed to sneak the leg through.
And that's the end of the fight! Rashard Jackson showed his dominance in that final round. Well Jackson has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
