The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Arska misses with a looping left.
Arska ducks down and throws a hook to the body but McLovin moves away.
Arska wants to clinch.
McLovin tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Arska was well out of range. Poor timing from McLovin.
Arska stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from McLovin.

Arska has taken the fight to the clinch.
Arska can't get the takedown.
A nice right hand lands inside from Arska.
Arska lands a hook to the body. It's hard to tell if that hurt McLovin or not.
Arska blocks an uppercut.
Arska has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. McLovin avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.

McLovin prevents a takedown attempt there.

Arska uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before McLovin has time to react.
Arska tries to close the distance and clinch up but McLovin swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Arska comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Arska has a nice red mark on his side after a thudding body kick by McLovin.
McLovin on the wrong end of a nice hook.
No joy there for Arska, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Arska walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
McLovin throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Arska.
McLovin pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
McLovin throws a head kick that half lands.


It looks like Raaka Arska has been cut.
Arska dodges the punch combination from McLovin.
McLovin misses with a double jab.
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from McLovin lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Arska has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Arska and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.

and McLovin counters with a nice low kick that buckles Arska's knee momentarily.
Rob McLovin is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
McLovin throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
McLovin fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Arska manages to avoid it.
McLovin falls off balance throwing a combination
and Arska counters with a lovely straight right hand!
McLovin misses with a few strikes there.

McLovin connects with a single shot there.

Arska decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Arska is just content to waste time from the top position. McLovin takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.
Arska is fighting to break McLovin's control of his arms but McLovin is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.
McLovin wants to stand up but Arska is controlling him.
Arska is looking to work some ground and pound but McLovin has wrist control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
McLovin is trying to keep Arska in close.
Arska in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.

Arska postures up in McLovin's guard and throws a big left but McLovin blocks it.
McLovin is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

McLovin fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Arska checks it well.
McLovin wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Arska closes the distance and clinches up with McLovin, looking for a takedown. Arska pushes McLovin against the cage but McLovin circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Arska looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Arska looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks McLovin with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Arska throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for McLovin, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
