PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Harry Bach (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Franz Ritter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Bach comes to the cage accompanied by In the House In a Heartbeat. Ritter comes into a darkened arena with his song building. All Along The Watchtower kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ritter fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Bach on the side of the head.


It looks like Harry Bach has been cut.
Ritter works over Bach's head and body with a nice combination.
Ritter throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Bach blocks a jab.
Bach missing with a left hand there. Ritter was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Nice defenses there by Bach.

Bach shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Ritter's guard.
Ritter is controlling Bach's posture.
Ritter keeping moving, preventing Bach from controlling successfully.
Bach controlling from the top position.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Ritter is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Despite being in the dominant position, Franz Ritter just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Bach throws an overhand right that lands on Ritter's shoulder, as Ritter tries to avoid the shot.

Ritter throws a shot from downtown. Bach moves away and avoids it.
Ritter swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.

Bach shoots in and bounces Ritter off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Ritter is trying to control the position from the bottom.

That's time! Bach's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Bach throws a lazy right hand but Ritter sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Bach will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Ritter throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Bach counters with a right hand to the body.
Ritter misses with a straight right.

Bach closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Ritter has one of Bach's arms on lockdown, trying to prevent him from doing any damage.
Bach tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it.
Ritter wants to control but Bach postures up.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Ritter sneaks back into half guard.
Ritter has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Bach is working away from the top position though.
Ritter keeping hold of Bach's head, controlling as best he can.
Bach throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Bach thows a huge punch but Ritter dodges it nicely.

Bach is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Bach scoring with strikes to the body and head.
Bach is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.
Bach tries to pass to full mount but Ritter defends it.
Ritter is trying to stand up here but Bach is controlling him well.
Bach is controlling the pace.
Bach thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.

Ritter avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Bach.
Ritter trying to control but Bach postures up.
Ritter is refusing to be controlled, as Bach sits in half guard.
Ritter regains full guard. Nicely done.

Bach drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Bach jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Ritter tries to land a sweep but no joy.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Ritter throws a predictable looking body shot
and Bach counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Bach slips under a jab.
Bach looks to land a combination but Ritter avoids it well.
Bach takes a body punch but keeps moving.
Bach defending well as Ritter loads up on a big left hand.
Bach bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.
Bach takes a swing at Ritter's ribcage but misses.
Ritter might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.
Bach fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Ritter moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot.
Bach throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Ritter throws a lazy right hand but Bach sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.

Bach avoids the body shot from Ritter.
Bach closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
Ritter moves out of range as Bach strikes.
Bach takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.
Bach misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Ritter.
Nice shot lands for Ritter.
A jab from Ritter finds it's way through Bach's defenses.

Ritter misses with an uppercut. Bach saw that one coming.

Bach bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Ritter throws a series of strikes that have Bach backpedaling.


Bach is rocked!
Ritter drops Bach with a straight left! Oh this is bad for Bach! Ritter dives in and starts dropping bombs - the referee has no choice but to step in and save him!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:29 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Franz Ritter!
