Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Rickson Paiva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Samuel Alito (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Paiva comes to the cage accompanied by 2001 : Oddysey. Man, I cannot wait for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Rickson Paiva! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Samuel Alito! The judges for this bout are Mauricio Rocha, Paulo Santos and Daniel Cesar.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Paiva darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. Paiva is looking for a kimura but Alito is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Paiva to get the leverage. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Paiva passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Alito! Alito gets back to half guard. Paiva is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Alito is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Alito is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. Alito has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Paiva is working away from the top position though. Paiva is pressing down on Alito's thigh, looking to free his foot. Alito is holding on for now.
That's one minute gone in the round. Alito flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Paiva shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat. Paiva pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Alito is keeping the position for now. Alito manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Alito landing strikes from the mount and Paiva is in trouble! Paiva manages to regain half guard. Good work. Alito not landing any meaningful shots this time. Alito seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Paiva does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Alito looks gassed! Paiva wants to improve his position but Alito is controlling well.
Paiva misses with some strikes from the bottom.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Paiva is looking for a sweep. Alito is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Paiva won't allow Alito to pass to mount. Paiva actively working from the bottom here. Paiva wants to get back to full guard but Alito has passed into side control. Alito is landing with some decent strikes but Paiva is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue. Paiva keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Alito trying to control but he's not successful this time. Paiva tries to get back to half guard but can't. Paiva slips a leg in and gets back to half guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. The fighters are battling for position here. Paiva manages to regain full guard. Nice work. Paiva is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Paiva is looking to sinch up a triangle. Alito throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Paiva's body to avoid the submission. Paiva has instead reached around Alito's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Paiva arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.
