Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Kevin Fitch (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Oleg Vasiliev (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Vasiliev comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Hate me now kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Kevin Fitch had a look across the cage there at his opponent. He definitely means business

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Kevin Fitch! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
9 - 14 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Oleg Vasiliev! The judges for this bout are Trevor Gratis, Dillan Fox and Yves DeLean.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Fitch misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Vasiliev shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Fitch but Fitch pushes him off and we're back to square one. Fitch moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.
It looks like Oleg Vasiliev has been cut. Fitch fails in his attempt to clinch. Fitch closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Fitch is looking for a kimura but Vasiliev is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Fitch to get the leverage. Vasiliev tries to get to full guard but Fitch has control of the leg. Fitch trying to pass the guard but Vasiliev defending well. Vasiliev actively working from the bottom here. Vasiliev won't allow Fitch to pass to mount.
That's one minute gone in the round. Vasiliev is refusing to be controlled, as Fitch sits in half guard. Vasiliev is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Vasiliev darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. Fitch is trying to maintain the position but Vasiliev is very close to passing his half guard. Vasiliev is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Fitch sees it coming and defends easily. Fitch tries to get to full guard but Vasiliev has control of the leg. Vasiliev is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Fitch defends it well. Vasiliev looks gassed!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Fitch trying to control but Vasiliev postures up.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Fitch is trying to stand back up but Vasiliev is controlling him
Fitch kicks Vasiliev off and gets back to his feet. Vasiliev fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Fitch manages to avoid it. Vasiliev tries for a takedown but Fitch circles away easily and Fitch counters with a takedown into side control. Fitch staying calm.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Vasiliev pushes Fitch away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Fitch gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control. Fitch lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face. Fitch taking a breather here. Fitch trying to control the action but Vasiliev is working from the bottom. Fitch stands up and beckons Vasiliev to his feet.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Vasiliev takes a body punch but keeps moving. Fitch scores to the head and body with a nice combination! Fitch getting the better of the striking in that exchange. Fitch lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
That has opened up Oleg Vasiliev's cut even more. Excellent takedown into side control there by Fitch. Vasiliev is not content to let Fitch control the position. Vasiliev is looking to regain half guard here but Fitch keeps moving and retains side control. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Fitch working the body and head with strikes. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Kevin Fitch dominated that round. The cut man is working on Oleg Vasiliev's cut. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
Fitch misses with a two punch combination.
Fitch lunges at Vasiliev with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Vasiliev's hand. Fitch connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son. Fitch throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Fitch misses with a takedown and Vasiliev counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Fitch! Vasiliev cracks Fitch with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Fitch is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. Fitch defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Vasiliev. Fitch is trying to escape the mount.
Vasiliev has hold of Fitch's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Fitch manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Vasiliev looking to control but Fitch is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. Vasiliev prevents Fitch from getting the reversal. Fitch is really trying hard to get back to his feet.
Fitch is desperately trying to improve his position but Vasiliev has a good base and remains in mount. Fitch wants to control but Vasiliev is having none of it.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Vasiliev looking to finish with strikes here!

Fitch darts in and clinches Vasiliev up against the cage. Vasiliev fails to pull guard.
Fitch's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Fitch fails to land with a series of punches.
Fitch gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Vasiliev counters with a single leg into guard. Fitch didn't expect that. Vasiliev thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Fitch is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control. Vasiliev won't allow Fitch to get back to his feet. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Fitch looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Fitch is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
That's one minute gone in the round. Vasiliev is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Fitch tries to land a sweep but no joy. Fitch is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Fitch has his takedown stuffed and Vasiliev counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Vasiliev. Vasiliev trying to control but Fitch is working from the bottom. Fitch trying to control the position here.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Vasiliev drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Fitch manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Vasiliev has Fitch in his guard. Fitch knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Vasiliev on the ground. Vasiliev trying to control the position.
Fitch slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. Vasiliev controls Fitch momentarily but Fitch frees himself. Fitch wants to get up but he can't break Vasiliev's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Vasiliev wants to hit a switch here but Fitch passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Vasiliev there! Fitch looking to control but Vasiliev is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. Fitch tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Fitch tries to control but Vasiliev wriggling away. Fitch is really struggling to control Vasiliev but he's trying to hold on to the position.
The referee stands the fighters back up. Kevin Fitch just wasn't active enough from the dominant position. Fitch shoots and misses and Vasiliev counters with a nice double leg into half guard. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Kevin Fitch. That's going to take a lot out of him. Fitch pushes Vasiliev off looking to stand but Vasiliev dives back in and keeps control.

Vasiliev is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
And that's the end of the fight! Oleg Vasiliev comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I think Vasiliev has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
