And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Esteban Gola!
The judges for this bout are Dean Styles, Reed Andrews and Joseph Jones.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gola misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Peterson tries to bum rush Gola with a series of wild strikes but Gola uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Gola uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Peterson.
Peterson shoots in but no luck this time.
Peterson blocks a head kick by Gola.
Peterson throws a lazy head kick
and Gola counters with a flying knee. Nice.
Peterson misses with a takedown attempt

and Gola counters by moving into the clinch.
Gola landing knees to the head.
Gola with a knee to the head.
Gola throws a knee to the head but misses.
Gola tries a knee to the head but he's missed.
Peterson jumps guard but Gola stands there with Peterson around his waist. Peterson gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jim Peterson. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Gola breaks from the clinch.
Peterson throws a sloppy head kick

and Gola counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Gola tries to stand but can't do so whilst Peterson controls his leg.
Gola looks gassed!
Peterson is trying to stand.
Gola throwing shots but Peterson is blocking nicely.
Peterson keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.

The fighters are battling for position here. Peterson manages to regain full guard. Nice work.
Gola wants to stand but Peterson is controlling his posture from full guard.

Peterson is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Peterson controls Gola momentarily but Gola frees himself.
Gola postures up in Peterson's guard and throws a big left but Peterson blocks it.
Peterson wants to sweep but no luck.

Gola drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Peterson dives on top into guard.
Peterson controls from within his opponent's guard.
Peterson trying to control the position from guard on top but Gola is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Peterson working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Gola's head.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Peterson passes easily into side control. Nice work.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Gola gets back to half guard.

Peterson seems like he's working for an arm triangle here. He's freed his trapped foot and he's rotating nicely. Gola is in big trouble! He's tapping out! This one is aaaaaaaaaaaall over!
