Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Heddy Lamaar (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rex Carver (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Lamaar's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Pledge To Hedley Lamaar. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
11 - 4 - 1, fighting out of Sydney, Heddy Lamaar! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Rex Carver! The judges for this bout are Eliza Hachem, Damien Edna and Steve Erwin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Carver misses with a straight right. Carver swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Carver is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Lamaar. Carver swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Jab, jab by Lamaar - just one landing. Carver thows a body shot but no joy. Carver misses with a wild combination.
Lamaar takes the fight into the clinch. Carver trying to stall but Lamaar improves his position.

Carver is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath. Lamaar gets a nice trip takedown into half guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Carver wants to get back to his feet.
Carver has hold of Lamaar's hands but Lamaar slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow. Lamaar seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense. Lamaar has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
That's one minute gone in the round. Lamaar lands strikes from half guard. Lamaar trying to control the pace. Carver looks like he's trying to stand up.
Lamaar lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears. Lamaar controlling the action here.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Lamaar working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that. Lamaar working over Carver with some ground and pound. Carver looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable. Carver tries to get to full guard but Lamaar has control of the leg. Lamaar lands with a punch from half guard. Ground and pound from Lamaar. Carver tries to roll over but Lamaar keeps him under control. Lamaar with a momentary lay and pray from half guard. Carver is trying to stand up here but Lamaar is controlling him well.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Lamaar looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding. Lamaar is nestled in close to Carver, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure. Lamaar keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.
The referee stands the fighters back up. Heddy Lamaar just wasn't active enough from the dominant position. Lamaar moves into the clinch. Lamaar has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Carver regains guard immediately. Lamaar looking to control the position here, rather than advance. Lamaar won't allow Carver to get back to his feet. Carver can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Lamaar controls the pace.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Lamaar seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Carver for as long as he can get away with. Carver keeping moving, preventing Lamaar from controlling successfully. Lamaar postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head. Lamaar scores with a decent looking elbow strike. Carver is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Lamaar's corner is telling him to maintain position. Carver wants to stand up but Lamaar is controlling him. Lamaar has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Heddy Lamaar dominated that round. That's time! Lamaar's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Lamaar drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. Carver looking for a sweep. Not yet Carver, not yet. Lamaar scoring with punches to the head and body. Carver can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Lamaar controls the pace. Carver is trying to hold Lamaar in close to prevent damage but Lamaar has managed to pass into half guard.
Lamaar is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Carver works his way to full guard. Good work. Lamaar scores with a decent looking elbow strike. Carver is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Carver is breathing heavily. Carver is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first.
That's one minute gone in the round. Lamaar slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. Carver is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Lamaar is controlling him. Lamaar sitting in guard, not really doing much.
That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Lamaar makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard. Carver is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Lamaar is controlling him. Lamaar passes Carver's left leg - he's now in half guard. Lamaar keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action. Lamaar passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Carver! Carver is trying desperately to improve position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Lamaar content just to control the position here. Lamaar prevents Carver from getting the reversal. Lamaar lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.
Lamaar controlling the pace for now. Lamaar lands with some strikes. Lamaar fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!

It looks like Rex Carver has been cut. Lamaar controlling the pace for now.

The referee stands the fighters back up. Heddy Lamaar just wasn't active enough from the dominant position. A looping hook to the body misses from Carver. Lamaar does a little dance to reset his feet. Carver takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt. Lamaar moves into range and clinches up with Carver. Lamaar pulls guard effortlessly. Carver pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Lamaar is keeping the position for now. Lamaar bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Carver's guard. Lamaar is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Heddy Lamaar dominated that second round. The cut man is working on Rex Carver's cut. That's time! Lamaar's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!
Lamaar darts in and clinches Carver up against the cage. Carver wants to stall.

Lamaar gets a nice trip takedown into half guard. Carver on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound. Lamaar has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount. Lamaar looking to ground and pound his opponent to a finish here.
Lamaar landing strikes from the mount and Carver is in trouble! This has been an exciting period of action! Lamaar sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment. Lamaar's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground. Carver takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Carver is desperately trying to improve his position but Lamaar has a good base and remains in mount. Lamaar punishing his opponent with strikes.
That has opened up Rex Carver's cut even more. Lamaar takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. Lamaar with good strikes from the mount here! Rex Carver has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Rex Carver's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.
The referee calls the doctor in to look at Rex Carver's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
